WIA is pleased to inform you that we will co-sponsor the following event:
Dr. Sally Ride, the first American woman to fly in space, and her organization “Sally Ride Science” will be hosting a two day educator conference on July 23-24 at NOAA in Silver Spring, focused on Earth Science and Climate Change.
The conference is being supported by NASA’s Science Mission Directorate and NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). GSFC and Dr. Ride would also like to open this conference with a reception at the Goddard Visitor's Center (GVC) on the evening of July 22 honoring the Anniversary of Dr. Ride’s flight and her commitment to the Earth she first viewed from space 25 years ago.
Dr. Ride will give remarks at the reception, which will acknowledge the contributions of women in space and science. For more information, or if your company or organization would like to provide support to and attend this reception, please contact Jim Kirkpatrick, AAS Executive Director at (703) 866-0020 jkirkpatrick@astronautical.org.
