Scott Yeakel
The Aerospace Corporation

Scott Yeakel was promoted to General Manager, Systems Engineering and Launch Division (SELD) in The Aerospace Corporation’s National Systems Group (NSG) effective 1 August 2015.  In this role, Yeakel manages Aerospace support to various directorates and offices of the National Reconnaissance Office.

 

Yeakel joined Aerospace in 2011 as a systems director within NSG’s Systems Engineering and Ground Division/Enterprise Engineering. In that role Yeakel assisted SELD leadership in developing and solidifying Aerospace’s role in the customer’s readiness processes while providing direct support to the customer’s Signals Intelligence and Communications programs. From 2013 to 2015, Yeakel served as the principal engineer supporting the NSG senior vice president with formulating and executing technical strategies and providing support to corporate initiatives.

 

Prior to joining Aerospace, Yeakel spent over 20 years serving in the United States Air Force with assignments at Space and Missile Systems Center, the Missile Defense Agency, Department of State, and the NRO. Following his Air Force service, Yeakel spent over 12 years in industry leading the development of several space systems and leading the advanced plans department for the Integrated Space Systems Division of General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems.

 

Yeakel holds a bachelor’s of science degree in aeronautical engineering from the Air Force Academy and a master’s of science degree in astronautical engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology.  Yeakel also obtained an M.B.A. from UCLA and is a graduate of the Defense Systems Management College’s Advanced Program Managers course.  He is a member of the Tau Beta Pi and Beta Gamma Sigma honor societies.
