In the spirit of the 2nd Part of WIA’s upcoming “Race and Gender Equity Program”, we are highlighting the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts of our 4 Premier Partners. Today we are highlighting SAIC.
SAIC® is a premier Fortune 500® technology integrator driving our nation’s technology transformation. We offer high-end engineering, digital, artificial intelligence, and mission solutions across the defense, space, civilian and intelligence markets.

An important key to SAIC’s success is our unwavering commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I). We set annual corporate and individual education and performance goals, drive accountability across the enterprise and measure our results. We encourage diverse teams, equitable employee experiences and an inclusive culture where all employees can be their authentic selves, feel empowered and pursue equal opportunities for career advancement.

In 2020, SAIC refocused and accelerated our DE&I initiatives and pledged to drive real change through our four pillars of commitment.

Fight racism, bias and prejudice in our workplace
We embrace inclusion as one of our corporate values; seek and eliminate bias in our recruiting and hiring practices; audit our job codes annually to ensure gender pay equity; provide DE&I training and education to all SAIC leaders and employees; and power our DE&I initiatives with internal champions, ambassadors and allies. SAIC has seven Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), which comprise the largest champion network in our organization. Our ERGs support building an inclusive culture by raising awareness about diverse backgrounds, experiences, perspectives and identities and contribute to our business growth and success.

Make our company more inclusive and diverse
We drive DE&I among company leadership (e.g., increasing the representation of women and minorities). We require diverse candidate slates for senior positions, and SAIC leader incentive plans are contingent on meeting diversity goals along with performance targets. In 2020 and 2021, we launched leadership and management accelerator programs for our Black, Hispanic/Latin and Asian leaders and our emerging and mid-career female leaders.

Support nonprofit organizations that uplift minorities in our communities
SAIC partners with Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic Serving Institutions, the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund, Black Girls Code, Girls Who Code, Year Up, VA Ready, Black Engineer of the Year Award and the Equal Justice Initiative. SAIC's Citizenship program builds partnerships with nonprofit organizations whose missions and causes matter to our employees, including Military & Veteran Resiliency, Health & Well-Being and Environment & Sustainability.

Measure results and hold ourselves accountable
SAIC’s commitment to being more diverse, equitable and inclusive begins at the very top with our Board of Directors, which holds the company accountable to diversity goals. We are committed to being transparent about where we stand today and the opportunities ahead of us. We recognize that DE&I is a continuous journey, as we work to mature our efforts every day and measure our progress.
