MCLEAN, Va., Feb. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) [NYSE: SAI] today announced that Federal Computer Week has named Deb Alderson to its list of leaders who affect change, progress and efficiency in determining how the federal government acquires, develops and manages information technology (IT). The annual listing honors 100 individuals from government, industry and academia who have played pivotal roles in the federal government IT community. Alderson and other winners will be honored during the 22nd Annual Federal 100 awards gala at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C. on March 28.
As President of SAIC’s Defense Solutions Group (DSG), Alderson directs the business of more than 14,000 employees worldwide. Under her direction, DSG has grown to one of the highest level technical achievement organizations in the nation. In 2010, her organization was reappraised at maturity level five of the Software Engineering Institute’s Capability Maturity Model-Integration®, making it one of the largest organizations within the industry to achieve this elite credential.
Alderson is also an active participant on the Executive Council and Board of Directors of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), and through 2010 was a member of the Board of Women in Aerospace. In these capacities, she is involved in assessing and steering industry direction.
