Dear WIA Members,

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a very Happy New Year! As we start a new decade, I wanted to give my sincerest thank you to all of our sponsors, as well as our very loyal members, who continue to show their support for Women in Aerospace. Your work inside and outside of this organization is much appreciated. I am looking forward to the New Year as we continue to build on our incredible success.

I would like to start by announcing three new board members that have been elected to join our current leadership:

Brandon Eden of United Launch Alliance

Stephen Ganote of Avascent

Susan Nelson of Aerojet Rocketdyne

These three individuals join an already active and dedicated group of individuals. To view the full 2020 Board of Directors, please click here.

Exciting things are happening in 2020. Stay tuned as we will soon be requesting volunteers for new WIA committees to focus on involvement of members around the country as well as early career members. I will communicate more information on these efforts in the next couple of months.

We have an impressive programming schedule this year. I wanted to take a moment to re-introduce this year’s WIA Program Series:

·         WIA’s Breakfast Club: Policy Talks!

o    Join us for a truly unique round table discussion featuring thought-provoking discourse and responses from select Congressional Committees. Key professional staffers from the Hill will provide members with an exclusive look into their responses to the forecasts and trends that will influence the government and the industry in the near future. This event is off the record.

·         WIA Stories: The Journeys of Incredible Women in Aerospace

o    You are invited to join WIA for an intimate gathering of colleagues as esteemed women leaders share the story of their personal journeys to success. This off the record conversation promises to be filled with helpful advice paired with fantastic stories depicting how each of these incredible women made their mark. Come prepared to network with colleagues and share your own personal success story.

·         WIA’s Book Signing Series

o    The newest addition to the WIA Program Series, the book signing series will allow WIA to feature inspirational, published authors and the stories they have to share. Event attendees will have the exclusive opportunity to meet the authors, ask questions, and go home with a signed copy of the author’s book.
